Creating Futures for Children: Help A Child of India’s Journey of Hope

Event Description

Child Education Excellence Project (CEEP)
For more than five decades, Help A Child of India has been dedicated to bringing love, dignity, and opportunity into the lives of children from marginalized communities. Established in 1968 and formally registered as a society in 1995, our organisation is committed to the holistic development of deprived children, empowering them to rise above poverty and envision a brighter future.
With over 200,000 lives transformed through our development programs, we continue to remain grounded in our values of stewardship, care & concern, transparency, integrity, and excellence. Guided by these principles, we work to ensure that every child, irrespective of caste, religion, or language, has access to opportunities that nurture their potential.
Our Vision
Love, dignity, and a promising future for deprived children.
Our Mission
To facilitate a future where deprived children, their families, and their communities live a dignified life filled with love and equality.
Our Motto
Creating futures for children.
Currently, Help A Child of India runs three projects—academic support centres in Amritsar and Kolkata, and the Child Education Excellence Project (CEEP) in Chennai. Each initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those focused on education, equality, and community empowerment.
Child Education Excellence Project (CEEP): Nurturing Knowledge and Character
The Child Education Excellence Project (CEEP) is one of our flagship initiatives, designed to provide quality education and holistic development to underprivileged children. More than just academic support, CEEP strives to equip young learners with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to succeed in life—academically, socially, and personally.
Inspired by STEM, Rooted in Holistic Growth
The CEEP model draws inspiration from the globally recognized STEM education framework (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Like STEM, it encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation through hands-on learning and practical applications. However, CEEP goes beyond STEM—its vision is broader.
In addition to strengthening academic excellence, CEEP emphasizes character formation, moral education, and soft skills development. Our approach ensures that students not only gain the competencies to thrive in their future careers but also grow into responsible citizens with strong values.
Objectives of CEEP
The project aims to:
• Empower students to apply learning to real-life challenges.
• Strengthen innovative and computational thinking skills.
• Deliver experiential education through activities, workshops, and practical lessons.
• Boost attendance, retention, and interest in science and mathematics.
• Shape character through moral guidance and soft skill development.
The CEEP Model: Building Strong Foundations
At present, 30–35 girls from economically weaker sections are selected to undergo a two-year foundation course conducted in the evenings after school. This model is designed to complement their regular education and strengthen core subjects like:
• English: Mastery of reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• Mathematics: Simplifying complex concepts with practical applications.
• Science: Making learning engaging and understandable through real-life examples.
By combining academic rigour with personal development, CEEP ensures that children are not only better prepared for their studies but also develop the confidence, discipline, and vision to succeed in life.
A Future Filled with Possibilities
Every child deserves a chance to dream, learn, and achieve. Through the Child Education Excellence Project, Help A Child of India is laying strong foundations for education while nurturing the values that help young minds grow into compassionate and capable leaders of tomorrow.
Together, we are not just teaching children—we are creating futures.
