DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS PROGRAM-AMRITSAR PUNJAB

Event Description
Amritsar Child Education Excellence Project, a project of Help A Child of India, organised an Awareness Talk on Domestic Violence at Housing Board Colony, C Block, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, with the objective of creating awareness among community members about domestic violence, women’s safety, family well-being, and the importance of seeking timely support.
The programme aimed to educate community members about different forms of domestic violence, including physical, emotional, verbal, psychological, and financial abuse. The session also highlighted the importance of recognising signs of violence, supporting survivors, and promoting a safe and respectful environment within families and communities.
The chief guest and speaker, Mrs. Paramdeep Kaur, Inspector, All Amritsar Saanjh Kendra & PPM, Amritsar, addressed the community and shared valuable information on domestic violence, women’s safety, available support systems, and the importance of reporting incidents of violence. She encouraged community members to speak up against domestic violence and to seek appropriate assistance whenever required.
Mrs. Sukhwant Kaur, Senior Police Constable, Ranjit Avenue Police Station, along with other police staff from Women & Children Protection, also participated in the programme. They interacted with community members and provided important guidance regarding safety, support, and the role of the police in protecting women and children.
