- Chanda Devi – “Changed of Life”
Mrs. Chanda Devi wife of Mr. Akhilesh Mandal has two daughters and one son. She is from economically poor background. Where she hadn’t opportunity to go to school. Her husband is daily labor, working in Punjab. She keeps the family and takes care of her children alone, while her husband stays outside the home, for earning money to support his family financially. When she heard about adult literacy class is being conducted in her village then she decided to attend ALP class. She completed three months of literacy class and now she is able to read, write and do simple arithmetic. Whatever she has learned in three months of literacy class, in order not to forget that, she seats with her children and keep revising. Also she ensures that her children are doing their home work by checking their note books. Not only that now she is able to do the marketing and keep all the records to present before her husband. Because of this her husband is now happy and blessed. She earned her husband’s trust and favor to maintain her house hold activities. Now her thoughts is being accepted by her husband in terms of agricultural activities and also in money related mater. The respect she is able to earn from her husband and also from her community that motivate others to success fully complete the ALP classes. She and her husband are very happy and thankful to Help A Child of India for providing literacy skill to his wife.
- Munni Devi becomes business women.
Mrs. Munni Devi wife of Naresh Sah is from Saroni village. Her family is economically poor and depended on daily labor and agricultural work. Her husband is a farmer who occasionally goes to Punjab for work. She has four children among them three sons and one daughter. She joined adult literacy class in the session of October to December 2020 and got literacy skills. Now she is able to read, write and able to do simple arithmetic. After the class she requested her husband that trust me from now no words “I can run our shop by myself” by seeing her self-confidence her husband allow her to run the shop by her alone. Now she is able to manage the shop and note down all the expenses. She even sometime makes the list of all goods and goes to market to do the shopping. Not only that, her younger son had left school from 8th standard but when she understand the value of education she has decided to re- admit her son in class 9 . Now she is very concerned for her children study. She is very thankful to Help A Child of India who taught her literacy skill and brought this changes to her life.
- Manju Devi, Live with dignity.
Mrs. Manju Devi wife of Sunil Sah from Gosain Tola has one 5yrs daughter in her family. Her husband is mason who hasn’t much time to spend with his daughter and wife at home. She is one of the learners who received literacy skill in the session of October to December 2020. After literacy she spends her valuable time teaching her daughter in free time. She is teaching five other children also of the same age group of her daughter in her house at free of cost, just to keep her knowledge updated and also to enhance her literacy skills. She also earn more respect from her husband than before. Her husband feels proud to having her and being able to read, write and manage accounting. He feels relax from over family burden because while he stays outside home, she is able to do the banking work and also marketing more skillfully than before. Now she can’t be cheated because she got literacy skill, said her husband. Manju Devi with her husband wants to thank to Help A Child of India for enabling her to get literacy skill and also receive integrity in the family and community.
